Bloody hell.
If somebody drove a car at me (about a tonne?) i'd want them to go to prison.
Now - i may start a new thread about this part - POTENTIAL - the potential outcome for this crime, and it's only by the grace of god this didn't happen - was the victim dying (PC Philips - yes, how serious was that crime treated, hmmmm) - surely the Judge should be taking that in to account?

Its attempted murder any way you look at it, how can they not be jailed for it...
this "honour" crap is just sharia law BS that should not be considered in this country...
what we seem to be seeing is the effect of implementing sharia law in to the countries law and it seems sharia supports "honour" murdering...

If it wasn't muslims that did this they would be in prison for attempted murder .
They get away with this it isn't right .

Re: "honour attack" but no jail sentence....
Attempted murder should get the same penalty as murder itself
2 reasons...the same intent applies , and by giving a lesser penalty to an unsucessful murderer, we are rewarding failure and encouraging mediocrity...

Re: "honour attack" but no jail sentence....
Vic I've always thought that!
When someone gets a lesser sentence for attempted murder - because basically they failed to kill someone - it's like saying "Wel your plan failed due to bad luck so have some time off your sentience!"
WTF?
I should I say What the pineapple?

Totally agree, hence the potential i mentioned earlier.
Same with drink driving which receives utterly paltry sentences even when they crash in to other cars - every time it happens it is by pure luck they don't mow some innocent pedestrian down.
